Greetings!! Being you are here reading this I hope there is something special happening for you and a special someone. We here at Bladarion realize that people meet and become close, so we offer the following guidines should you wish to court in a somewhat courtly and old world manner. These are not rules nor requirements, simply suggestions. We make no claim that this is how courting occured in medieval courts, but rather offer them as courteous guidelines.
1. Always speak with courtesy and grace to your loved one. Please remember we have a wide range of ages and sensitivities here, so please keep your more intimate words for your love to IM's.
2. It is most courteous to ask your Lady's leave to link her avatar. One could sit close to her and ask "Lady <name> May I take your arm?" If room conditions require you (M'lord) to be to the left of your lady and therefore unable to link her say- <Offers Lady <name> my arm> at which time she could link with you. (It may be wise to check with the lady in IM before you ask in the open room, as this may save embarassment should she not wish to link.)
3. When boarding tours assist your lady aboard by offering her your hand, also when unloading, get off first and offer her your hand. The knights are trained to do this also, so please don't be upset should they do so. I will be training them to await a lady's Lord to allow him the opportunity.
4. A word about asking permission to court from the King and Queen. Our policy has always been not to insist on approving relationships in the realm, believing them to be a matter of a personal nature. However should you wish our blessing we would be more than happy to convey it upon your asking.
5. It is not necessary for both the Lady and Lord to be from Bladarion. Again, it is a personal matter. We would ask that should your love be of a form not allowed residency by Bladarion law, (I.E. Shape-shifters, Dragons, non-human beings) that they follow our policies when visiting, as we would follow the policies in their home. We've had no problems along these lines and do not forsee them.
6. Bladarion is blessed with having an active Holy Order under our good Sir Joseph. If you wish to marry here we avail all Bladarion has to offer you in the way of our Cathedral, Ballrooms, Gardens, and Banquet Hall. Sir Joseph conducts a beautiful ceremony and would love to work with you on yours.
7. Some advice from an old King who has seen many relationships come and go. (I can't resist...haha.) Please take things slow. I've seen many people rush to courting only to be hurt deeply in short order when one or the other disappears suddenly. Let friendships develop and go from there.
8. Last guideline, ENJOY! There are many wonderful people here. I hope you find happiness and love like many here I know have.
